2018年に公開された『Spider-Man : Into the Spider-Verse』の続編映画（タイトルは未定）の、本編写真と思しき画像が公開された。
公式Instagram（@spiderversemovie）に投稿されたのは、赤いスーツを着たスパイダーマンがニューヨークの摩天楼を眺めている光景。
前作で主役のマイルス・モラリスが最終的に着ていた黒いものとは違うスーツだが、着ているのは誰なのか？キャプションには “Look out and see a multiverse of possibilities ahead of you” （「マルチバースの可能性に目を向けてみて」）と添えられており、ファンたちの解説を求める声が上がっている。
また、サウンドトラックを手がけるソニー・ミュージック・サウンドトラックス（@sonymusicsoundtracks）が ”Our spidey senses are tingling 🕸” （「私たちのスパイダーセンスが反応してますよ」）とコメントしており、これも何かを示唆しているのかもしれない。
第91回アカデミー賞で長編アニメ映画賞に輝くなど、高評価を受けた前作だが、今作でも、監督は『ソウルフル・ワールド』のケンプ・パワーズ、制作・脚本はフィル・ロードとクリス・ミラーと、他にもアツい制作メンバーが加わっている。また、既報によれば、前作のマイルス・モラレスが主人公となるほか、中年スパイダーマンのピーター・B・パーカーも再登場することが声優のジェイク・ジョンソンにより認められている。
2021年12月17日に米公開を予定している、Marvel Studiosによる『スパイダーマン』シリーズの完結作、『Spider -Man: No Way Home』とは繋がりがあるのか、気になるところだ。
続編の公開は2022年10月7日米国公開予定。

It’s a different suit than the black one that Miles Morales, the main character in the previous film, eventually wore, but who is wearing it?
The caption reads “Look out and see a multiverse of possibilities ahead of you”, prompting fans to ask for an explanation.
In addition, Sony Music Soundtracks (@sonymusicsoundtracks), the company behind the soundtrack, wrote “Our spidey senses are tingling 🕸” , which may also suggest something. The previous film was highly acclaimed and won the Best Animated Feature Film at the 91st Academy Awards, but this film also has other hotshot production members, including Kemp Powers (Soulful World) as director, and Phil Lord and Chris Miller as producers and writers. In addition, according to previous reports, Miles Morales from the previous film will be the main character, and voice actor Jake Johnson has confirmed that middle-aged Spider-Man Peter B. Parker will also reprise his role.
Whether there is a connection to Spider-Man: No Way Home, the conclusion of the Spider-Man series by Marvel Studios, scheduled for release in the US on December 17, 2021 is also something interesting to think about.
The sequel is scheduled for release in the US on October 7, 2022.
