カントリー・ミュージック、ポップ・ミュージックを牽引し続けてきた、シンガーソングライターのテイラー・スウィフトが、『Red』(2012)の再録版、『Red(Taylor’s Version)』をリリースした。
「Taylor’s Version」シリーズ のリリースは、音楽業界の大物プロデューサー、スクーター・ブラウンがテイラーの同意なしにアルバムの権利を取得し、他社に売却したことを受けたことがきっかけとなっている。
テイラーは所有権を取り戻すために、過去６作品の再レコーディングを行っており、今年の4月には、第一弾として『Fearless』の再録音バージョンをリリース済みだ。
オリジナルに収録されていた「We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together」「22」「I Knew You Were Trouble」などの22曲に新曲を加え、再録盤は、全30曲のアルバム。以前より話題になっていた、俳優のジェイク・ジレンホールとの失恋経験を歌ったと言われている「All Too Well」の10分ヴァージョンも含んでいる。
Netflixオリジナルシリーズ『ストレンジャー・シングス 未知の世界』で知られるセイディー・シンクと、映画『メイズ・ランナー』シリーズで知られるディラン・オブライエンが出演する同曲のショートフィルムが、日本時間11月13日午前9時に公開される。

売却された音源の権利は失ったままだが、テイラーはファンたちに再録音版を聴くことを促しており、映画会社や広告企業に対しても新バージョンをライセンスするよう求めている。
Taylor Swift, a singer-songwriter who has been a driving force in country and pop music, has released “Red (Taylor’s Version)”, a re-recorded version of “Red” (2012).
The “Taylor’s Version” series. The “Taylor’s Version” series was inspired by the fact that Scooter Braun, one of the biggest producers in the music industry, had acquired the rights to the album without Taylor’s consent and sold it to another company.
In order to regain ownership, Taylor has been re-recording her last six albums, and in April of this year, she has already released a re-recorded version of her 2008 album “Fearless” as the first installment.
The re-recorded version is an album of 30 songs, adding new songs to the 22 songs from the original, including “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” “22,” and “I Knew You Were Trouble. It also includes a 10-minute version of “All Too Well,” which has been talked about for some time and is said to be a song about her heartbreak experience with actor Jake Gyllenhaal.
A short film of the song, starring Sadie Sink, known for the Netflix original series “Stranger Things: The Unknown World,” and Dylan O’Brien, known for the “Maze Runner” film series, will be released at 9 a.m. Japan time on November 13.
Although she still does not have the rights to the sold recordings, Taylor is urging her fans to listen to the re-recorded versions, and she is also asking movie studios and advertising companies to license the new versions.
